Position Descriptions

Instructors/Instructional Aides (ADC)

Hours per week: 35, Monday – Friday
Salary Range: Minimum Wage - Minimum Wage + $.50 per hour

General Description: Support adults with disabilities in becoming more independent by providing instruction in areas such as computers, communication, basic education, self-advocacy and vocational skills. Instructors provide training and support in various community sites and at individualized volunteer jobs. Instructors are also responsible for providing personal care in the restrooms and at lunch. High level of paperwork responsibilities as well as some aspects of program coordination as assigned.


Instructors (HAB)

Hours per week: 37.5, Monday – Friday
Salary Range: Minimum Wage - Minimum Wage + $.50 per hour

General Description: Support adults with disabilities in becoming more independent by providing supervision and training of consumers involved in a center-based work environment. Instructors supervise the work and training activities, performance, production and behaviors of consumers. Instructors maintain records related to consumer wages and annual goals. Instructors assist in coordinating the operations of the production department, ensuring production quality and deadlines are met as needed. Instructors ensure all jobs and corresponding paperwork are completed according to standards and within deadlines.


Community Trainer

Hours per week: 35, Monday – Friday
Salary Range: Minimum Wage - Minimum Wage + $1.00 per hour

General Description: Support adults with disabilities to become more actively involved in their community by providing training and instruction in various community sites, including paid and volunteer job sites 100% of the day. Provide meaningful community training experience that includes vocational, destination, community access and recreation training. Provide on-the-job training, support and monitoring to consumers to ensure stability in job placement. Ensure continuity of consumer program through assessment, goal development and data collection.


Personal Development Coach

Hours per week: 30 – 35, Monday – Friday
Salary Range: Minimum Wage - Minimum Wage + $1.00 per hour

General Description: Responsible for teaching adults with developmental disabilities in community-based and site-based environments in such areas as vocational development, mobility, self-advocacy, social and interpersonal communication, basic education, recreation and leisure, computer skills and other personal goal areas. Responsible for goal development, goal implementation, program documentation and development of individual consumer program schedules.


Case Manager

Hours per week: 10 – 29, Monday – Friday
Salary Range: Minimum Wage - Minimum Wage + $1.00 per hour

General Description: Under the direction of the Supervising Case Manager and with the support of the Program Manager, responsible for providing 1-to-1 supports to individuals with developmental disabilities participating in the Project College Tailored Day Service Option in such areas as academic success, campus connections, healthy lifestyles, new perspectives and other personal goal areas. Responsible for liaison with local college campuses disability service offices and other campus and community resources. Responsible for goal development, goal implementation, program documentation, and development of individual consumer program schedules.


Self-Help Aide

Hours per week: 25, Monday – Friday
Salary Range: Minimum Wage - Minimum Wage + $.50 per hour

General Description: Provide personal care assistance to consumers in a way that ensures proper hygiene and safety while ensuring the dignity of the individual. Provide physical assistance to consumers daily in compliance with policy and procedure for proper lifting, safety techniques and feeding techniques.


Program Coordinator Positions

As Coordinator positions become available, UCP hires Program Coordinators for the following programs:

  • Networks Program: This program provides support and training in the community including paid work and volunteer activities.
  • Habilitation Program: This is a vocational training program that provides paid work opportunities in bulk mail and assembly work.
  • Adult Development Program (ADC): This program provides training in vocational, communication, basic skill development, and social skills with partial community access.’
  • Tailored Day/Project College: This program assists students in the transition to college with individually designed services offered right on campus.

Mileage Compensation
